FAQs

Why is ScaleRecord paying for unused footage?
icon

First person POV footage, especially at high quality, is crucial for the training of AI that can understand how the world works. Many AI labs scrape YouTube content for free to train their models. We are anti-scraping. We believe that creators should be able to contribute to AI development while getting financially compensated for their work, hence why using unused footage sourced from creators from all around the world.

How does ScaleRecord make money?
icon

We work with some of the biggest AI labs to provide richly-annotated and clean first POV video datasets, to help train the future of AI models that understand the physical world.

How long does it take for my submission to be reviewed?
icon

Our team manually reviews every single footage submission to ensure quality, on top of an automated system that conducts an initial QA. Because of this, it will take ~2 days for your submission to be fully reviewed.

My submission got rejected. Why is that?
icon

The most common reasons for rejected submissions: videos are cut, have text overlays, poor resolution or frame rate, or not filmed through a first person POV.

My submission got rejected. Will ScaleRecord still use my data?
icon

No. We only license out video footage that we have purchased from you. If your video was rejected, we do not include that in our dataset.

Why did I get banned?
icon

We take every single submission very seriously. If we detect that you are submitting work that you do not own (e.g. scraped from YouTube), we will permanently ban you from our platform.
